Portrait photography for Neutron Creations

Here’s some images from my shoot with Ben and Marc from Neutron Creations. Together they develop some very well put together web apps, and needed some new profile images to go with their recently launched site. Ben and Marc are also both keen photographers, so we wanted to do something a little bit creative and different to the usual corporate headshots. Here’s the result:

To achieve this look, we used 2 flashes to overpower the sun. This is what the scene would have looked like shot as is. Rather flat and boring:

The flash on my left was on full power, with the one on my right around 25% to fill in the shadows.

For this final shot of Marc we moved locations and just used the one flash and one reflector. This time I covered the flash with a blue gel, which when corrected in camera gives the sky more of a sunset look than can ever be achieved naturally in London:

Best of luck with the new venture Ben and Marc!

Conceptual image for Net Media Planet

Paid search experts Net Media Planet contacted me back in July to create a visually impressive image for them. They were wanting to have an image of their director, Sri Sharma, that could be used for PR and show what their business was all about. Together with my retoucher Tony, and Net Media Planet’s marketing exec Pavitra, we worked on a few concepts and ended up with the following rough mock-up:

From here we knew what we needed to shoot to make the image for real. Here’s Sri performing one of the countless poses I made him do that day!

Tony then took the image of Sri and worked some serious magic to create the final image

Net Media Planet also managed to secure a place at number 16 in The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 for Tech companies. The image of Sri was run in the Tech Track 100 supplement which is an absolutely fantastic bit of press coverage. Well done guys!

Thanks Pavitra and Sri for letting us get creative on this one. And of course a big thanks to the ever helpful Tony for bringing the ideas to life. You’re a superstar!

Shiny new, press release ready photographs for a couple of troublemakers

I’ve been really enjoying the PR Photography I’ve been doing lately. Especially when it involves characters like these guys.

Jargon PR commissioned me to provide images of their client, AP HR Solutions, that they could use for some upcoming press coverage. AP HR Solutions specialise in HR Consultancy, Coaching and Recruitment, so I was expecting a pretty straight forward, standard corporate shoot. Hmm..

Kevin, the UK MD, is a constant laugh. Business partner Paul is making sure he gets a few cracks in about the fact I’m Australian. I return the favour when shooting the two of them though. Unfortunately I was threatened with legal action if I show the out takes from the shoot, but I’ll leave it up to your imagination.

Here’s a few safe for publication images

Blackmail funds are now due guys or the other photos go up.

Here’s some images from my shoot with Simon of Jargon Public Relations. Simon is leading a fast growing PR Agency, with a lot of clients in the US Technology market. We wanted to create a few professional images that he could use for his own PR coverage, that had a simple London twist to them. Here’s the results:

I recently photographed the UK’s leading life coach, Mr Rasheed Ogunlaru. Rasheed wanted some updated PR imagery to go along with his new website www.rasaru.com. I wanted our studio pics to look really fresh, warm and welcoming, so opted to go for a nice seamless orange

Next we hit the outside world to grab a few shots around Tower Bridge. This location appeared along the way with funky spotlights that were on the surrounding walls. A quick climb up the wall to reposition them, add in a reflector and away we go

It was getting quite dark and poor Rasheed was getting a bit frozen, so we headed to our final destination to finish off the shoot. First image is lit with plain white flash through a white umbrella

I felt it was looking a bit cold, so added a blue gel to the flash, then corrected the colour back in camera to a neutral foreground. This results in sending any areas not lit by the flash orange

Warm background achieved, so we worked on the last few pics and wrapped up Rasheed in his jacket again!

Cheers Rasheed for a fun PR shoot and pushing through despite the cold London evening!
