Shiny new, press release ready photographs for a couple of troublemakers

I’ve been really enjoying the PR Photography I’ve been doing lately. Especially when it involves characters like these guys.

Jargon PR commissioned me to provide images of their client, AP HR Solutions, that they could use for some upcoming press coverage. AP HR Solutions specialise in HR Consultancy, Coaching and Recruitment, so I was expecting a pretty straight forward, standard corporate shoot. Hmm..

Kevin, the UK MD, is a constant laugh. Business partner Paul is making sure he gets a few cracks in about the fact I’m Australian. I return the favour when shooting the two of them though. Unfortunately I was threatened with legal action if I show the out takes from the shoot, but I’ll leave it up to your imagination.

Here’s a few safe for publication images

Blackmail funds are now due guys or the other photos go up.

Miles portfolio shoot

Miles was looking to kickstart his modelling career, so we arranged to shoot a range of styles so his portfolio could look varied. Here’s some of my favourites from the shoot.

Here’s some images from my shoot with Simon of Jargon Public Relations. Simon is leading a fast growing PR Agency, with a lot of clients in the US Technology market. We wanted to create a few professional images that he could use for his own PR coverage, that had a simple London twist to them. Here’s the results:

Big thanks to Simon, his patient wife ;) and also to my unbelievably helpful assistant for this shoot, Josh Caple.

Fashionable Easter

Happy Easter everyone! Here’s a few images from my shoot with the superstar model, Kitty L. Stylist in charge was Suchita Kapur, with hair and make up by Ana Popescu.

These images were lit with the sun coming from directly behind Kitty, a large white reflector to camera right and a small gold reflector to camera left

With Kitty now facing in to the strong sun, we held a large diffusion scrim between her and the harsh light. This softened the light beautifully, but overall became a bit flat. To get some shape back in to the image, a plexiglass mirror is behind Kitty to camera left to help pop her out from the background. A small gold reflector was used in front of Kitty to kick some light back on to the side of her face, adding a little bit of shape

I love the gentle, natural look to these next two. You can’t help but get lost in those eyes (bigger version on my site).. Sun from behind, white reflector to camera right

Huge white reflector to camera left that was literally moved with Kitty as she walked

fashion_photographer-6

The light was fading rapidly, and Kitty was pushing on in her Summer fashion despite the chilly London afternoon. Large white reflector camera right, small gold reflector held above to catch the last remaining sun and bounce onto Kitty’s face

fashion_photographer-7

For this last scene, the light was basically non existent! Out comes the flash, fired through a white brolly on axis with camera

Big thanks to Kitty, Suchita and Ana!!

The bright side

I recently photographed the UK’s leading life coach, Mr Rasheed Ogunlaru. Rasheed wanted some updated PR imagery to go along with his new website www.rasaru.com. I wanted our studio pics to look really fresh, warm and welcoming, so opted to go for a nice seamless orange

Next we hit the outside world to grab a few shots around Tower Bridge. This location appeared along the way with funky spotlights that were on the surrounding walls. A quick climb up the wall to reposition them, add in a reflector and away we go

It was getting quite dark and poor Rasheed was getting a bit frozen, so we headed to our final destination to finish off the shoot. First image is lit with plain white flash through a white umbrella

pr_photographer-6

I felt it was looking a bit cold, so added a blue gel to the flash, then corrected the colour back in camera to a neutral foreground. This results in sending any areas not lit by the flash orange

Warm background achieved, so we worked on the last few pics and wrapped up Rasheed in his jacket again!

Cheers Rasheed for a fun PR shoot and pushing through despite the cold London evening!
